O Baby Lapsit
O Baby Lapsit, for babies ages birth to three years plus parent or caregiver, focuses on early literacy skills through rhyme, rhythm, fingerplays, and music, all from the security of the parent’s lap. We spend 20 minutes on a structured circletime, read the shortest of stories, then break for approximately 30 minutes of optional social and play time for parents and children. Early Childhood Backpacks, filled with pre-selected materials funded by the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine, are available for checkout at this event.
O Baby Lapsit meets on Monday mornings at 9:30, Thursday mornings at 10:30, and Wednesday evenings at 6:30 from September through April. For our summer schedule, please check the Summer Reading page or the event calendar.
On Mondays, Lapsit meets before the library actually opens. Please come to the front door of the library and staff will let you in to attend Lapsit. Other library services start at 10 am, as usual.
