Through the WILBOR consortium of Iowa libraries,, Musser Public Library offers a large selection of electronic books (eBooks) for checkout digitally, in addition to our eAudiobooks available through the same consortium.


A few things about eBooks via WILBOR:

• The WILBOR consortium purchases its eAudiobooks & eBooks via Overdrive. Each format requires a small software installation in order to download and launch properly. Instructions for this are readily available on the WILBOR site.
• All WILBOR downloads require a Musser Public Library card to access and borrow.
• Most of the information you will need to get started will be on the WILBOR site. You are welcome to call or email library staff for assistance, but we recommend looking through the site first as there is a very good chance your question will be answered there.
• You can always use your desktop or laptop computer (Windows or Mac) to access Overdrive content. However if you want to put eBooks on a portable eReader, you will want to be sure you have a compatible device. WILBOR has created a list of currently know compatible devices.
•  Remember, you do not need to have a portable device to listen to eAudiobooks (MP3 player, iPod) or to read eBooks (eBook reader) - you can always use the computer you download them to!
• eBooks checkout for 14 days. eAudiobooks still checkout for 7 days. Unlike eAudiobooks, eBooks can be returned early using the Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) software you will install on your computer.
•  Advantage Collection! Musser Public Library, in addition to offering the titles purchased via the WILBOR consortium of libraries - which are shared amongst these libraries - will also be purchasing an Advantage Collection available solely to Musser Public Library card holders. To access this collection you need only login as usual on the WILBOR site with your Musser Public Library card. You will then be able to see both WILBOR and Advantage Collection titles.
