Tax Season Begins

It's that time of year again to start thinking about filing your taxes. The IRS has stopped sending paper tax packages to individuals and businesses but all forms are available online at the IRS website. 

IMPORTANT: The Iowa Department of Revenue is also no longer sending paper tax packages to individuals, businesses, or libraries. Instead, all forms are available online at the IDR website. Musser Public Library will also provide laminated copies of the most commonly requested forms that can be copied at a cost of 15 cents a page.

The library will also carry paper forms from the IRS. However not all Federal forms have arrived yet (as of 1/25/12).

There is also free tax help available starting Feb. 1, 2012 on Mon. & Wed. at the Salvation Army, 1000 Oregon St. You must call United Way to set up an appointment - 563-263-5963.

You've likely noticed we've been making some big changes with how you find and check out books. It's been a big transition but things are moving along. As part of this process we want to let you know about some of the on-going benefits of the new RiverShare system. 
You can now:

• share & review which items you like using your fav social media app
• get similar suggested titles
• see other series by the same author/creator
• see what awards that book has received and what other books have received that same award
• access the catalog from your phone & tablet with our new optimized mobile platform catalog

I Got an ereader! Now What?

Learn about compatible devices and how to get started enjoying eBooks. This workshop aims to answer all your questions.

Bring your new tech toy, your enthusiasm and your sense of humor to 
the library. We will go through the basics of checking out and downloading library eBooks to Kindles, Nooks, iPads and other tablets for your reading pleasure.

A basic knowledge of computers and online experience is required for this class.
